Even though it’s the sixth, I’m using the Day 5 prompt because I didn’t finish my poem yesterday. The prompt is to write a poem about how a pair or trio of very different things would perceive a blessing, or how these very different things would think of something else (luck, grief, happiness, etc).

What Joy?
by ARHuelsenbeck
tragedy averted
flames put out
property protected
memories intact
that's what joy is
said the fire extinguisher
delicious fruit
made even sweeter
spread on bread or cookie
for breakfast, dessert, or snack
that's what joy is
said the jam
rolling in the muck
snuffling for truffles
a trough of slop
and a nap
that's what joy is
said the pig
